Description

On this shorter version of our daylong Luis Barragan tour, we will have you travel north of the city to introduce you to some of the architect’s most iconic works: The Towers of Satélite (Torres de Satélite), Cuadra San Cristóbal (the stables), the Fountain of the Lovers (La Fuente de los Amantes) and the Through (El Bebedero). During our 4-hour tour, and guided by a licensed architect, discover the distinct elements present in all Luis Barragán’s later works, and how his command of elements such as texture, light and shadow effects and color so skillfully trigger emotions in the eye of the beholder.

The tour of the Satellite Towers and Cuadra San Cristóbal couldn't have been better with Alfonso as our guide. Being an architect, he was extremely knowledgeable and had a genuine appreciation for the work of Luis Barragán. He offered a commanding history of the projects, and of architecture in general. His patience and relaxed manner were greatly appreciated by our party of 4. The tour was well worth the investment and I wouldn't have had such a rich experience without Traveling Beetle or Alfonso. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in Barragán.

This was a great introduction to Luis Barragan's work. Our architect said that the house/stables were a highlight so due to our limited time in CDMX, we opted for 1/2 day tour... I LOVED seeing the towers as well. All went smoothly. The guide gave us sufficient time to absorb all that we were seeing...others on the tour were fun to be with...all in all a great eye-opening experience.
