Description

On this shorter version of our daylong Luis Barragan tour, we will have you travel north of the city to introduce you to some of the architect’s most iconic works: The Towers of Satélite (Torres de Satélite), Cuadra San Cristóbal (the stables/equestrian estate), the Fountain of the Lovers (La Fuente de los Amantes) and the Through (El Bebedero). During our 4-hour tour, and guided by a licensed architect, discover the distinct elements present in all Luis Barragán’s later works, and how his command of elements such as texture, light and shadow effects, and color so skillfully trigger emotions in the eye of the beholder.

Took the Cuadra San Cristobal tour. Absolutely stunning. And Andres is an amazing guide who lives and breathes architecture.

Luis was super knowledgeable and able to answer all of the questions our group fired at him throughout the tour. And aside from that he's friendly and personable and we loved spending the morning with him! The whole tour felt perfectly paced; we had time to wander, observe, and take photos and never felt rushed.

I booked two tickets on a shared tour for myself and my sister and we were accompanied by a couple, and two solo travelers who were very lovely as well -- so the group for shared tours is still small/intimate if you're on the fence about that! Overall I highly recommend.

This experience is unique: All the Barragan sites visited, the quality of the guide (not a classic guide, but an architect!) and that is really fantastic. Can't wait for them to develop other architect tours!
